Hi, I'm Beatrice Bradshaw. I craft spicy contemporary romances set across Scotland – whisking readers away to glens and windswept coastlines without the need for a plane ticket!

By day, I'm a translator for HarperCollins Germany, a journalist, and Scottish historian; by night, I morph into a purveyor of page-turning passion and fun.

After ten rather horrible years filled with loss and hardship, I traded Berlin for Scotland in 2018. Since then, I've been smitten with my adopted homeland and not once looked back.

How I write

With my knowledge of Scottish history and English Literature acquired at the University of Glasgow (where I won the Alexander Scott Prize for English Literature in 2021), I sprinkle authentic Scottish experiences through stories that venture well beyond predictable clichés.

My heroines are fierce, funny, and delightfully flawed – the kind of women who trip over their own witty comebacks, but land on their feet with style.

My books deliver wit, heat, and men who are actually worth the emotional investment: charming, filthy, and capable of finding both the G-spot and the grocery store without assistance.

What else I do

When not hunched over my laptop in my Glasgow flat (fuelled by industrial amounts of coffee and pastries), you’ll find me hunting for inspiration in crumbling castles, exploring Scottish landscapes, or striking up conversations with the residents of ancient cemeteries.

My future gravestone will immortalise the time I convinced David Hasselhoff to sing, a tale best shared over whisky.

And while I throw myself into ceilidhs with the same enthusiasm as karaoke nights, my dancing has been described as ‘enthusiastically hazardous’.
